The European Observatory on Fair Trade Public Procurement is a Europe-wide platform for those interested in Fair Public Procurement that has been set up within the Public Affairs project and will continuously monitor and analyse laws on Public Procurement, disseminate research and studies on this subject and make available best practices, case studies and tenders.

This website will be expanded throughout 2008 in order to provide an interactive online platform where those interested can gather and share information through the Observatory’s network. Additional features that you will find in the future include:

• An Observatory Network, with free registered access
• Access to model tenders and guidelines for registered Observatory Network members
• Mailing lists on specific topics for the Observatory Network
• A discussion forum
• Document sharing, with the possibility to upload and download documents to and from the website
• Photo gallery
• Event calendar
• Updated news and information

By 2010, a European Model on FPP will be published, that will guide public authorities on how to include Fair Trade criteria in their tenders and will indicate targets towards purchasing in a Fair manner and will also be available online.
